The article “Taming Macho Ways,” by Elvia Alvarado, is comparing the men’s job with women’s house chorus. Elvia Alvarado complains that the men in the country side are not helpful to their women. Then campesinas women have to work from the sun rise to the sun set doing the entire house chorus. They don’t even get sleep at night because they have to feed the baby if he/she wakes up crying. When the campesinos men get back from work, all they want is their meal and drink while the women take care of the kids and other house works. Even though the women work all day, at night they get harassed by their husbands because they come home late, drunk. According to Alvarado, the reason why men treat their women like trash is because of the corrupt societies that don’t treat people well and it doesn’t even give jobs to the men. Alvarado said that the Campesinos men have to get more responsible like the city men who help their wives do the house work, and change the way they live and be more responsible of their wives and help them with the house chorus.
